Albert Amato

Founder /Owner RACE2UBE LLC./ RACE2UBE.COM The WEBSITE

Mr. Amato was born in L.A. California, spent half of his life in Caracas, Venezuela and the other half in Miami, Florida. Cars and racing have been a part of my life since I was born. It is a known fact since at only three years of age I was taking my first car out for a spin. Right about now you must be thinking many parents took me for a ride while sitting on their laps. Not so. My mom and I were arriving in our 1987 Cadillac to the Miami International Airport when she got out taking care of the luggage and sure enough, while she was distracted I moved myself over stood up and pulled down the transmission lever to put it into drive. By now you’re saying no that is impossible as you would need to press the brake in order to engage the transmission. Not so Cadillac’s had not installed this safety measure until 1988. The car started to roll into the traffic; my mom panicking trying to hold back the car and suddenly a guy in military uniform jumped head in and pushed the break with his hand and stopped the car finally putting it in park. Cars and Racing has run in my blood since I was very young. I could also say that my grandfather and great grandfather had cars and motorcycles all their lives. I definitely have the racing and car gene in my DNA. The adrenaline also runs through my veins when I engage in extreme sports such as snowboarding and skydiving.

My first vehicle at the age of 2 was a big-foot power wheels electric car. Living in Venezuela found my-self around cars and bikes, of course but was too young to actually do any damage. I learned about cars from my friends and their dads whom had the German, Japanese and Exotics. After, I moved to Miami I really started to learn and get acquainted with the mechanical side of cars. We moved to Miami in 1995, I was 11 years old. My knowledge then came from browsing at magazines and searching the internet. Then came the time when I would go to car meets and at the age 15 is when I started going to tracks where racing events were held.

Cars and bikes

My first form of transportation was a black CBR 900cc Honda with the chrome rims and a two brothers racing exhaust. Starting my driving in real cars was a 1995 C4 ZR1 red on red, its 5.7 liter V8 had about 400 to the wheels with 390 pounds of torque. My second car was 1989 Porsche 911 Targa black on black interior with upgraded t20 turbo boosting 24 PSI it pulled 380HP and 340 pounds of torque, full exhaust. Then for my 18th birthday my mom surprised me with a 1999 C5 Corvette with a 5.7 liter V8, putter color, with heads-up display.

After the Vette came the 1999 Mustang Saleen convertible, screaming yellow. Its amazing handling was due to its Saleen racing shocks, and springs which were made for auto cross and road course applications. The next car was a 2001Mustang Saleen , Zinc Yellow , came with the Eaton Supercharger and actually moved. I installed my first high performance part, a pulley for the charger. The car ran flat thirteen’s at 110 which was not bad for a 4,000 pound convertible. My Current car is a 2004 Mystique Cobra convertible. Have recently installed a 2.8 upper pulley, a 2.5 custom exhaust with no cats and magna flow resonators, Afco heat exchanger, MGW short shifter, custom carbon fiber intake, and the predator programmer. My next project with the Cobra is building the block with CP pistons and 5.0 stoker- kit which will get the car up to 600 to the wheels on the stock charger; also installing twin GT35R turbos at 20 Psi the car will pull 1000 HP at the wheels and 1100 pounds of torque. For the suspension an 8 point roll cage with the full Griggs r40 Race package included. This includes the full coil-overs, full adjustable shocks, six sway bars, and sub-frame connectors. Re-building the transmission to hold 1400 HP will include an IRS rebuilt so it can hold 1200 to the wheels. This is to make the car suitable for drag racing and road course racing.

Future plans

My future plans include opening up a High Performance shop in California. I am also planning on taking all the courses needed to get my racing licenses. In the near future I will be also forming a team of race car drivers for Track racing, Drifting, Rally Racing, and Formula One racing.
